Modelling Smos Brightness Temperature by Use of Coupled Svat and Radiative Transfer Models over the Valencia Anchor Station

چکیده
Soil moisture is a key parameter controlling the exchanges at the surface/atmosphere interface. This parameter, very important for the weather and climate modelling, is not well monitored at a global scale. Because of its high spatial variability, a large number of point measurements is necessary to estimate an accurate value over an area. The SMOS (Soil Moisture and Ocean Salinity) mission was designed to observe soil moisture over continental surfaces as well as ocean salinity. Due to be launched in summer 2009, it will provide global soil moisture maps every 3 days at least, with an average spatial resolution of 40 km x 40 km.

Advance Modelling and Simulation of Industrial Boilers
This paper presents some of the results of the simulation in the radiation section of an industrial boiler using an advanced mathematical model. Calculations are described for the flow, heat transfer, and chemical reaction processes occurring within a gas-fired cylindrical furnace. The calculation procedure is a two dimensional one in which the main hydrodynamic variables are the velocity and s...

Abstract: The present study deals the theoretical modeling aspects of coupled conductive and radiative heat transfer in the presence of absorbing, emitting and scattering gray medium within two-dimensional square furnace including two flames. The gray radiative medium is bounded by isothermal walls which are considered to be opaque, diffuse and gray. The well known discrete ordinate method (DOM...
متن کاملThe effect of urban cover fraction on the retrieval of space-borne surface soil moisture at L-band
The world’s first satellite dedicated to soil moisture measurement was launched by the European Space Agency on 2nd November 2009. One objective of this Soil Moisture and Ocean Salinity (SMOS) mission is to obtain global near-surface (top ~5 cm) soil moisture every 2 to 3 days with a target accuracy of 0.04 m/m. To achieve this goal, the Microwave Imaging Radiometer with Aperture Synthesis (MIR...

The development and production of high performance equipment necessitate the use of passive cooling technology. In this paper, heat transfer study of convective-radiative straight fin with temperature-dependent thermal conductivity under the influence of magnetic field is carried out using Legendre wavelet collocation method. The numerical solution is used to investigate the effects of magnetic...
